2. Is it bad to teach my child 2+ languages?

   No, exposure to multiple languages has actually been seen to improve cognitive development.

3. Will sign language hinder my child’s verbal language?

   No, sign language can actually assist language development. Motor skills are developed earlier than speech so modeling sign language can grant earlier access to communication.

4. Will an AAC device cause my child to not speak?

   No, if a child is going to be a verbal communicator, AAC has been shown to assist with verbal communication as well as speech production skills.

She realized that the constraints of these institutions limit the creativity, time and attention that can be spent with each child. She wanted to create a clinic where ALL the needs of the child and their families can be met.

Sunny Speech has been proudly serving the children in West Bloomfield, MI and beyond! We offer home sessions, virtual sessions and clinic sessions for your convenience. We are a small company for a reason, to ensure that your child is actually getting the speech and language treatment that they deserve. If your child is not a right fit for us, we will refer you to someone who is! We care very deeply about evidence based practice backed by the latest research and clinical expertise. We also love collaborating with your child’s other therapists, whether that is at their school or other private practice. Lastly, we spend the time to provide free education and training for the families we service.
